Use Custom Bedding to Make Your Bed Luxurious
Everyone wants to feel like they can relax in their home. How does one make their home as comfortable as possible? There are many approaches, but almost all of them come back to expressing our personal style. You want your home to feel uniquely yours. And what is more personal and comforting that your bed?
Our beds are like our homes within our homes. Aside from wanting a mattress and a pillow that cradle your body correctly for you, there are many more ways of customizing and personalizing your unique sleep space. If you’ve never considered it before, you should consider having the perfect custom bedding created for you.
Why Custom Bedding?
Beds are extremely personal. If you’ve been bedding shopping you’ve found sets and individual pieces of all kinds. Kind of. There are actually many styles missing, and limitations on what sort of textures or colors are available any given season. If you’ve evaluated your room, your style, and come up with your wants and needs in bedding, you’ve probably already gotten too specific to choose from what the marketplace has available to you.
Custom bedding allows you to pick generally higher quality materials than are available in pre-made bedding and choose which elements to match, which to contrast, and which to use complementarily. Instead of having all the little decisions made for you about hems, fabrics, insulation, etc, you can choose for yourself.
A bedspread is the topmost layer on your bed, covering sheets in warm weather or blankets in cold weather. It gives a crisp, clean appearance and is easy to launder. It’s always relatively lightweight and thin compared to other warmth layers. These can have fitted corners to make your bed look extra classy.
A comforter is usually filled with a natural or synthetic insulator, like down or polyester. With large quilted bevels, it keeps you warm without weighing you down. Having your comforter made-to-order allows you to choose warmer, cooler, lighter, heavier, softer and firmer materials.
A duvet is another name for a “comforter cover”. These are easily laundered and they can also change the look of your comforter. You can even have a duvet made that fits both your summer and your winter warmth layers.
Dust Ruffles/Bed Skirts
Bed skirts are both decorative and functional. They block the view of the underbed area, or any ugly bed frame legs, while making your bed look deeper and larger. They also keep dust from collecting under the bed and stifle what would have been drafty air on your ankles in the morning. These can be ruffly looking, or crisp with box pleats or smooth sides.
Having the right throw pillows made is a lifestyle changer. You can finally have attractive decorative pillows that happen to fit in your back just right, prop you up perfectly for reading, or fit between your knees just how you sleep best. Whatever job they do for you at night, they can transition into looking perfect on your bed during the day.
Pillow shams are pillow cases, but generally better made and having a more secure closure than the ones that come with sheet sets. They often have a border or edge that make them look especially nice. Having custom pillow shams made allow you to match them to or contrast them with other bedroom elements, and tie the existing pillows you already have in with your new bedding.
Your bed can be any way you want it to be, and that is a wonderful thing.
