Livermore has been one of the fastest growing and bellweather areas of Alameda County, California. As itsI population approaches 90,000, the city has seen the rise of retail and commercial centers. In fact, Livermore can claim to be home of the San Francisco Premium Outlets and two more substantial shopping corners. The City has also seen a resurgence of its downtown with top of the line restaurants and shops. All of the above is on top of its world renowned wineries.
Livermore was founded by William Mendenhall and named after Robert Livermore, a local rancher who settled in the area in the 1840s. Livermore is the home of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, for which the chemical element livermorium is named (and thus, placing the city’s name in the periodic table.
On top of everything else, Livermore has exceptional schools. The community is served by the Livermore Unified School District. It runs K – 12 schools that regularly get test scores in the upper tier of schools in California.
Livermore has a diverse population formed by many ethnicities. This has created a cultural mecca within the region as exhibited by shops and festivals. People flock here for the shopping, food, and atmosphere. As a result, the city will continue to provide a key hub for Alameda County and the Bay Area.
